(October 9, 2019) Deirdre Birmingham of The Cider Farm in Mineral Point, WI, has joined the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) Board of Directors. As a nonprofit organization, OMRI relies on its Board to oversee policy development and governance for the organization.

(September 4, 2019) OMRI, the Organic Materials Review Institute, is pleased to announce the launch of their fully bilingual English/Spanish website at OMRI.org. In recent years, OMRI has been working to make its services more accessible to its growing Spanish-speaking audience.

State agricultural agencies and other applicable authorities have the legal authority to regulate, within their respective jurisdictions, the sale of fertilizers, pesticides and other agricultural inputs.

(May 16, 2019) OMRI (the Organic Materials Review Institute) recently welcomed Matt Landi of Awe Sum Organics and Beth Unger of CROPP Cooperative/Organic Valley to the organization’s Board of Directors. Matt and Beth will both fill seats designated for organic processors / handlers, to round out OMRI’s diverse and representative board.

UPDATE: On January 15, 2019 an updated Canada Organic Regime (COR) Operating Manual was published. Revisions in the Operating Manual specifically supersede the 2014 CFIA Memo titled, “Input verification under the Canada Organic Regime.” The current Canada Organic Regime (COR) Operating Manual is now the source document that clarifies the policies for input verification under the COR standards.

(September 17, 2018) OMRI announces the promotion of two longtime staff members to new positions in the organization. Amy Bradsher will fill a new leadership role as OMRI’s first Deputy Director, overseeing organizational administration and marketing for OMRI’s growing staff and programs. Amy has been with OMRI since 2009, primarily managing marketing and communications for the organization.
