OMRI Announces New Leadership Appointments
(September 17, 2018) OMRI announces the promotion of two longtime staff members to new positions in the organization. Amy Bradsher will fill a new leadership role as OMRI’s first Deputy Director, overseeing organizational administration and marketing for OMRI’s growing staff and programs. Amy has been with OMRI since 2009, primarily managing marketing and communications for the organization. She has been a solid and consistent member of OMRI’s management team, most recently serving as Senior Marketing Director.
She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from UC Berkeley, and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon. She currently serves as President of the Board of Directors of the Willamette Valley Sustainable Foods Alliance, a local nonprofit trade association.
At the same time, Doug Currier has been promoted to become OMRI’s Technical Director. Starting on October 1, he will lead the organization’s technical team in providing services to certifiers and stakeholders across the industry. Doug joined OMRI in 2011 and has served as an outstanding member of the organization’s Review Program in various capacities, most recently as Review Program Technical Manager. He has been a calm and steady manager for OMRI, and he will continue to use those skills in this new capacity. Doug holds a B.A. in Geography from the University of South Florida and an M.Sc. in Organic Farming from Scotland’s Rural College.
With experienced leadership in place, OMRI is poised to continue with steady growth both in the number of OMRI Listed® products, and in the organization’s services for the organic community. According to Executive Director/CEO Peggy Miars, “I couldn’t be more pleased with our new leadership team. Our staff is exceptionally dedicated to OMRI and OMRI’s success, and over and over we see our employees successfully building their careers here at OMRI.”
OMRI encourages applications from people interested in joining the staff, and they are currently hiring their next Marketing Manager. Candidates can check OMRI’s Employment webpage to find current open positions at OMRI.org/jobs.
