NOSB Sunset Review Implications
(September 10, 2015) At the upcoming fall meeting October 26-29, the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) will be discussing and voting on over 200 generic substances included on the National List. Several substances may not be renewed as part of the NOSB review process, and a number of OMRI Listed® products could be affected by this review. As a service to the industry, OMRI has compiled and published a list of products under each generic material category that may be affected. This list is expected to help certified operators to identify those products that they use in order to provide comments to the NOSB as to whether or not the substances under review are essential to their businesses.
Please use the link below to view the list. The products are identified by the corresponding generic substance, as published on the product labels or in the public OMRI category that indicates that they contain the generic material. No confidential information is included in the list.

Please be advised that this list only includes products that contain a generic substance that may undergo a change to its specified allowance on the National List. For a complete list of generic substances that are under review by the NOSB, please visit the NOSB meeting website to access the meeting agenda and the full text of the recommendations.
Comments related to these products are requested by the NOSB through the Regulations.gov website by October 5, 2015. The Organic Trade Association is also soliciting feedback through a series of surveys. If you have information to share about the substances under review, you are encouraged to participate in the process through one or both of these two avenues.
